Happy June 2026! Here is my June Newsletter!

Happy June Beloveds!

I've been on quite the adventure. Hopefully this isn't too much information! As some of you already know, I had my right shoulder replaced May 1st. On May 11th I went to my first post op exam and found out I'm allergic to the glue they used for the surgery. I was put on steroids to resolve my allergic reaction which apparently lowered my immunity and I somehow caught Covid (first time ever) from the very few people (I did have home health care) I was seeing. I ended up sick for a little over 3 weeks. Happily I am now much better and my energy has mostly come back. Yay! Physical Therapy is going well and I'm being faithful with all my exercises. What a journey!

I'm sharing a few photos from my adventure, both pre-surgery and post surgery at Mercy Hospital along with two of me at home after. The second picture of me below on the right I took today. My scar is getting much better! If you ever need a good orthopedic surgeon I highly recommend Dr. Joseph Ciotola at Mercy Hospital. You get a room with a view as you recover! Mercy is one of the top rated orthopedic hospitals in the country.

Thank you again Kathy McGinty (shown below) for being with me, taking pictures and caring for me from the beginning to the end of my hospital journey and beyond! I'm so grateful!

Surgerey Transformation 5 1 2026

I'm slowly adjusting to walking without a cane in my right hand. Luckily I don't use one in the house. (FYI: I fall to the right so using my cane in my left hand doesn't work. I mention that because so many people recommend using my left hand.) I am happy to be out and about again, even though I look like a penguin walking.

Unlike many shoulder surgeons, Ciotola only makes his patients wear a sling for 2 weeks instead of 4 weeks. He believes it makes the arm too stiff after 2 weeks. Happily I got out of mine on May 11th due to my allergic reaction. I was delighted! Experiment with what it's like to have no use of your dominant arm and hand. I'm right handed. My handwriting is challenged these days and has been but hopefully will improve.

So I hope you're having lovely adventures and enjoying the June weather. It's hot here in Pikesville today! Grateful my air conditioning is working! I'm a well known comfort queen and happy the universe is allowing me to enjoy the comfort of my air conditioned home! BTW, I've considered titling my second book: 'Confessions of a Comfort Queen'. :)

Some Buddhist Wisdom from Pema Chodren

Comfortable With Uncertainty is one of my favorite Pema Chodren books. I hope this wisdom touches you.

"Three Methods for training with uncertainty:

1.No more struggle
Whatever arises, train again and again in seeing it for what it is. The innermost essence of mind is without bias. Things arise and things dissolve forever and ever. Whatever happens, we can look at it with a nonjudgmental attitude. This is the primary method for working with painful situations.
2.Using poison as medicine
When suffering arises, we breathe it in for everybody. This poison is not just our personal misfortune. It's our kinship with all living things, the seed of compassion and openness. Instead of pushing it away or running from it, we breathe in and connect with it fully. We do this with the wish that all of us could be free of suffering.
3.Regarding whatever arises as awakened energy
This reverses our habitual pattern of trying to avoid conflict, trying to smooth things out, trying to prove that pain is a mistake that would not exist in our lives if only we did the right things. This view encourages us to look at the charnel ground of our lives as the working basis for attaining enlightenment."

Classes on Hold

For the time being I'm taking a break from offering any classes. I will let you know next month if I will offer the All Love Zoom or any other classes and sessions. I do hope to host another of Patti Hawse's Shamanic Journeys here in July.

If you are free this weekend there is a wonderful gathering of gifted souls. Check out karmafest.com for the details on this year's Karmafest in Havre de Grace, MD!
