Happy February, Beloveds!

Sending love and hugs to all this February! Hope you are managing through all the chaos and upheaval going on. So much coming at us all at once is overwhelming. I rarely post anything political because of the division it can deepen but I felt called to share this one from my Facebook feed. I hope it's helpful. This point really stood out and helped me: "Remember: Feeling overwhelmed is the point. When you recognize this, you regain some power. Take breaks. Process. This is a marathon."

Here is the whole post:

"Wise and important words from sociologist Jennifer Walter about what is happening in our country right now and what to do about it:
"As a sociologist, I need to tell you:
Your overwhelm is the goal of This administration. _
1/ The flood of 200+ executive orders in Trump's first days exemplifies Naomi Klein's "shock doctrine" - using chaos and crisis to push through radical changes while people are too disoriented to effectively resist. This isn't just politics as usual - it's a strategic exploitation of cognitive limits.
2/ Media theorist McLuhan predicted this: When humans face information overload, they become passive and disengaged. The rapid-fire executive orders create a cognitive bottleneck, making it nearly impossible for citizens and media to thoroughly analyze any single policy.
3/ Agenda-setting theory explains the strategy: When multiple major policies compete for attention simultaneously, it fragments public discourse. Traditional media can't keep up with the pace, leading to superficial coverage.
The result? Weakened democratic oversight and reduced public engagement.
What now?
1/ Set boundaries: Pick 2-3 key issues you deeply care about and focus your attention there. You can't track everything - that's by design. Impact comes from sustained focus, not scattered awareness.
2/ Use aggregators & experts: Find trusted analysts who do the heavy lifting of synthesis. Look for those explaining patterns, not just events.
3/ Remember: Feeling overwhelmed is the point. When you recognize this, you regain some power. Take breaks. Process. This is a marathon.
4/ Practice going slow: Wait 48hrs before reacting to new policies. The urgent clouds the important. Initial reporting often misses context
5/ Build community: Share the cognitive load. Different people track different issues. Network intelligence beats individual overload.
Remember: They want you scattered. Your focus is resistance."_

I hope this was helpful! Remember to breath, listen to your heart's wisdom and allow the feelings that come up to surface and pass through. This too shall pass and by following these suggestions you can make a difference in all our futures. Heart felt blessings to all!

News on My Book

I've been enjoying all the positive feedback I've been getting on my book so far and appreciated some of the helpful hints for future writing or a second addition. It seems my last chapter, "From There to Here" - where I sped things up - doesn't have the same tone or flow as the earlier chapters. I was in more of a 'just the facts' mode at the end; trying to keep the book shorter. I did struggle with that chapter (12 pages) and apparently some noticed. If you read the book you'll have to let me know what you think.

I'm looking for ways to promote the book. If you have any ideas on how best to get it more visible please let me know. Loren Duffey is helping me make a video that will go on my website and social media sites and I plan to do some podcasts in the future. If you know any podcasts that would like a spiritually focused sex & body positive author let me know.

Have I mentioned that I love referring to myself as a published author? Wink! Wink! Book info below...
